Okay, so I talk about learning to code all the time on this channel. But in this video, instead of the HOW, we’re going to talk about the WHY.
There are 3 main dimensions of reasons why you should learn to code.
1. It can make you very rich. And I don’t just mean the fact that software engineers get paid a lot. Being a well-paid developer is not even the best opportunity you have with this skill, as we will discuss in the video.
2. You can teach computers to help you. Unlike other skills like Powerpoint that are only useful as a career; coding can help you even if you never even intend to do it as a career
3. it’s intellectually stimulating (Problem-solving and logical thinking). If you like problem solving, this is the purest form of problem solving
Learning any skill really well takes a lot of time and it’s usually better to focus on mastering one thing rather than spreading your attention across many facets and never actually properly learning any of them.
There are many skills you could focus your attention on like painting, graphic design, and photography, and while they all have their merits, coding stands out for me because it uniquely answers what the world demands in this day and age, which in turn puts you in a position to demand a lot of money in return for having that skill.
