How to double your money and how to invest. Apple just announced their stock split 4:1, what does this mean for investors and for dividends? First, it means that on August 24th, for each share of Apple stock, you will receive 3 free stocks for Apple. However, the stock price itself will also be reduced in 1/4ths. Apple does this in order to keep the share price at around $100 to generate more excitement and buzz around the stock itself. It's easier to invest for beginners when they see $100 rather than $400. It's not big news, Apple has done this 4 times before, so if you've ever wanted to start investing, now is a good time to do so. Apple is my favorite stock.
