More than 187,000 children have received vaccinations against polio in Gaza, where the debilitating disease had not been seen for a quarter of a century but re-emerged amid the ongoing conflict. The campaign by the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the Palestinian Ministry of Health has made advances despite numerous challenges on the ground.
