In this tidbit from my The Women of 1776 webinar, meet Konwa'tsitsianni also known as Molly Brant, from the Iroquois Confederacy. Also known as the Haudenosaunee, the group of Native American and First Nations peoples from northeast North America worked to unite the nations and create a peaceful way to make decisions. The confederacy was made up of the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca nations. The Tuscarora joined the confederacy in 1722, making it the Six Nations.
