Review:
Eyre the Crow Maiden is a new and original 8-bit video game that was released on a cartridge for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and will be compatible with NTSC and PAL consoles.

Inspired by the sword and sorcery genre, the world of Eyra draws inspiration from the stories of characters such as Conan the Barbarian, Red Dormouse and Tarzan.

The gameplay and mechanics of the game are known by such names as "The Saga of Rastan", "Kadash", "Castlevania", "Blades of Retribution" and "Jill from the Jungle".

The physical version consists of a cartridge, a game box and an instruction manual. A preview version of the game will be available in a Vijay ROM, in which you can play on the Nintendo Entertainment System emulator or on any emulation platform or flash card of your choice.

History:
Imagine a very prehistoric and barbaric world where there are no cities, but people live in giant temples instead of cities. Temples located in mountains, deserts and other strange places where people gather and live together to protect themselves from external dangers, as well as to serve their elders, who devote their time to communicating with the gods in search of knowledge and power.

You are Eira, a young warrior priestess from a barbaric tribe attacked by a Hellish marauder, an evil warrior ruler from a distant country. You must go away from the world you know to dark and unfamiliar lands, accompanied by your only loyal familiar, a brave raven trained to fight.

Your mission is simple, but not easy. Your elders have sent you to rescue a group of soldiers kidnapped by a Hellish marauder who intends to experiment on them with ancient magic to create an army never seen before that will help him destroy all those who oppose him.

Along the way, you will encounter many enemies and several bosses who will do everything in their power to stop her.

Gameplay:
It can be played on any NES emulator of your choice or on real hardware using a flash card. Please keep in mind that there are still a lot of features missing from the gameplay. We are actively working on the game during the Kickstarter campaign, and as we add and improve features, we will continue to update you with new and improved versions of Eyra - The Crow Maiden. We hope you enjoy this demo and want more!

The game will take you through 5 different levels, divided into 3 parts each, so keep your eyes open.

Along the levels there are several warrior prisoners that you need to free in order to continue. Also... Each level will end with a difficult boss fight before you go into the next one.

Along the way you'll find power items that will upgrade Eyra's weapons that grant her more reach and deal more damage.

Development:
All the game's graphics were made using Gimp and Aseprite. We made sure that all the graphic content was finished before starting to code so we could get the game to look exactly how we wanted it to.

Once the tiles were done we started mocking up the levels to get the right feel out of each one...

In order to develop this game from idea to reality, we had Antoine (FG Software) whip us up a level editor that would allow level creation to happen while he builds the engine.
