I've always been self-conscious about my facial features, and I'm sure many people can relate.
As is well known, social media has a tendency to make it increasingly difficult to love oneself. Ironically, I discovered the self-portrait to be a useful tool for getting to know oneself on a deeper level and finding acceptance in my flaws. Drawing myself taught me that my "flaws" are part of what makes me unique, and I learned to love them in a way. Still to this date making a self-portrait is still a struggle for me but it feels like it’s getting easier each time :)
