SPS 2022 | Introducing our Ethernet-APL Portfolio: Field Switch and Communication Module
Welcome to a preview of our brand-new Ethernet-APL portfolio, which includes a Field Switch and Communication Module. Our APL Field Switch enables the connection of standard Ethernet devices, such as Siemens controllers, to either PROFIBUS PA or Ethernet-APL devices, like the Endress + Hauser temperature sensor demonstrated in this video.
Our commModule APL is a game-changer, implementing a PROFINET device attached via Ethernet IP to a switch and controller. The PROFINET PA proxy allows direct access to the PROFIBUS PA device values from the PLC.
Watch as we walk you through the entire process of connecting these devices, from an UART HART connection simulation to accessing device values from the PLC.
