"AVTOVAZ" has launched the release of a restyled version of the car, previously ironically called by the people "Shniva". The updated car was named LADA Niva Travel 2022. The car will be produced at the LADA Zapad Togliatti plant, which until 2019 was known as the GM-AVTOVAZ joint venture.
The main innovation was the updated appearance of the car. And, first of all, it is worth noting that the "face" has changed a lot. The car looked like a hybrid of the American RAV-4 and some of the Subaru models.
Among the features of the exterior of Niva Travel 2022 are an updated hood with larger stampings, new headlights and a large-mesh radiator grill, embossed lining on the wheel arches in combination with an updated design of wheel disks. The rear has all-LED taillights and a more pronounced bumper relief.
The release of the updated version of Niva Travel 2022 started on December 21. It is noteworthy that the car manufacturer was transferred to AVTOVAZ together with the purchase of GM's share. In addition to production sites, the Niva brand, which since 2006 has belonged to an American concern, has returned under the control of the Russian manufacturer. In the summer of 2020, the Shniva logo was changed - Chevrolet and replaced with the AVTOVAZ branded boat.
After almost 6 months, the time has come for a more thorough restyling. At the same time, the "hardware" changes almost did not affect. For example, the car received the same 1.7-liter engine with 80 horsepower.
LADA Niva Travel 2022 will be produced in 2 versions: a regular four-seater model and a five-seater Off-road model. The latter can be recognized by the black plastic body kit, as well as the standard snorkel). The first wheel arch linings are painted in body color, and the snorkel is completely absent.
The car is expected to go on sale next year. But the exact date of the start of sales was not indicated by the manufacturer. The same goes for the expected price. The older brother of the restyled car can be bought now for 738,000–881,000 rubles, which is equivalent to approximately from 9880 to 11,780 dollars.
