Existem muitas imagens na internet com falsa transparência. Elas podem está no formato JPG que é um formato que não suporta transparência, e sabendo disso, você não deve baixar imagens com essa extensão, já que a imagem não vai ter o que você deseja, e podem também está no formato PNG, que apesar de suportar transparência também pode ser salvo com outro tipos de backgrounds e por isso é muito comum baixar imagens PNG achando que o fundo é transparente, mas não é.
