Transcript:
NIDDK is known for supporting research on some of the most common, costly, and consequential diseases in the United States.
In this issue, we highlight NIDDK’s work and dedication to addressing the needs of all people, including those with less common conditions.
We share about our efforts to communicate scientific knowledge through Electronic Health Record systems, bringing relevant and timely information directly to those who need it.
We also learn about NIDDK-supported research advances on gut bacteria, metabolic inflexibility and calorie intake, and a wireless, implantable system that can monitor bladder function.
As these advances demonstrate, NIDDK supports cross-cutting science broadly applicable to many research areas. Our multi-faceted approach to health research and dissemination aims to enhance the quality of life and improve health outcomes for all individuals.
