The Soundcore is $26 and the Soundcore 2 is $40. The Soundcore 2 has double the Watts, it has 12 Watts total and the original Soundcore has 6 Watts total. The Soundcore 2 has IPX5 Waterproofing and the soundcore does not have any. The Soundcore 2 has a passive radiator and the soundcore just has a bass port. They both weigh about the same but the soundcore 2 feels way better in the hand. I did have some volume issues on the soundcore 2 where it would get louder or less loud on its on. Anker sent me another immediately and it had the same issue. But it is very minor. The Anker SoundCore 2 has better audio and does not distort like the original Anker Soundcore. They both have 24 hour play time and the SoundCore 2 has 4.2 Bluetooth technology whereas the SoundCore just has 4.0 Bluetooth technology. They both have a great rang of 66 feet outdoors, inside it will be a bit less because of interference. These are some of the best budget portable speakers.
