It is a very popular theme, become a developer and earn big $$$, or big €€€ in the case of Serbia. It’s easy right? They said so on TV, so it must be true! Well, it might not be so simple like taking a course for a few months and reading a book or two. It helps, though. As someone who is in constant contact with developers, and as someone mentoring (well, guiding would be more accurate) a future developer, I am going to share with you some wisdom and experience on how to reach the level of a “junior”. I’ll try to declutter the forest so you can see the individual trees. These trees are learning resources to use (and not use) as a beginner, resources to use later, technologies, tools and methods.
I’m the operations manager at Pirate Technologies, with the primary concerned that it runs like a well-oiled machinery.
Previously I worked as a project manager for the EU funded IPA projects at the Central Financing and Contracting Unit at the Ministry of Finance, with the primary focus on IT-related contracts.
I make it a habit not to be the part of the “mass” mentality and consider myself a critical thinker, and I like to question just about anything.
A jack of all trades, both my education and career cover technical and non-technical fields.
