Besides the fact that this self-propelled gun can cause a lot of pain to its opponent, it has one interesting feature. The fact is that the S-51 World of Tanks are not part of the USSR self-propelled gun branch, it stands aside, and in order to upgrade it, you need to compete in a lot of battles on the KV-2 heavy tank. But let's move on to considering the parameters of this artillery.
According to established tradition, we will begin our review with the fact that this unit has a standard self-propelled gun by the standards, but a very small safety margin compared to other equipment, as well as a frankly weak visibility of 275 meters.
From a security point of view, this Soviet self-propelled gun differs from all its classmates in the presence of armor, but this does not save it. The point is that the S-51's front armor characteristics are really good in some places. Yes, the NLD can be penetrated by everyone, but a small VLD is located at an angle of 72 degrees, which gives more than 200 millimeters of reduced armor, and this is already very serious.

But the whole point is that they will shoot at your body only by accident, since the Art-SAU S-51 has huge shields 7 millimeters thick in the frontal projection, shooting at which the enemy will cause damage to you, and landmines will come here with complete penetration.

Life becomes even less fun when you realize that the weak armor is aggravated by the barn-like dimensions of the tank. Due to the large silhouette of the S-51, the artillery received a rather mediocre camouflage coefficient, which means it will not be difficult to detect us.

In addition to the huge alphastrike, the Soviet S-51 WoT tank boasts high penetration even by high-explosive shells. By the way, the ammunition at our disposal is small and it is better to equip it as follows:
1. Land mines are our main source of causing pain to the enemy, they are powerful, quite penetrating, and also have an excellent scattering radius of fragments of 6 meters, we take it to every free space.
2. Gold land mines - differ from ordinary ones in the increased radius of scattering of fragments, which is 13 meters, which will allow you to easily hit two or even three nearby opponents, finish off wounded targets hidden behind a stone, and after the release of patch 0.9.18, also stun enemy equipment hit by shrapnel.

As for the accuracy of our gun, this is another parameter that we have to sacrifice for powerful one-time damage. The S-51 art has a huge spread, a very long convergence, and, of course, terrible stabilization. But that's not all, the total horizontal aiming angle of 8 degrees turns the gameplay into a complete nightmare, that is, it is extremely uncomfortable to play.
