Regardless which test you’ll end up taking to prove you can work or study in English, the one thing common to all is that they take practice and time.
Language tests aren’t all about grammar and vocabulary—they are about communication, which means making someone else clearly understand your ideas and arguments. They are also there to determine if you are ready to join a particular community or context, for example a university class or a workplace.
Treat each test like a project:
a) Find as many practice tests as you can and do them in test conditions
b) Discover your weakness and work to improve it
c) Build your vocabulary base (this will help in all areas)
d) Study sample answers
e) Get help if you need it
f) Give yourself enough time to prepare
