As you already know, we use Hive to process structured data in Hadoop. Apart from that, it also has several limitations. So, in this Hive Tutorial, we will see the limitations of Hive over NoSQL.
So, all these MapReduce, Pig, Hive and Flume are meant for batch processing. They do not support any kind of lookup or database feature and it can be any RDBMS database. RDBMS supports the CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) functionality which is not there in MapReduce, Pig or Flume. Hive is pretty much close to that like hive supports the creation of databases, tables, but updates and deletes will not be supported.
