Recently, the NSA issued a cybersecurity information bulletin to the industrial control system community recommending that the now obsolete TLS protocols, Versions 1.0 and 1.1, should no longer be relied upon to make secure connections. Current recommendations specify that secure connections should be made using TLS 1.2 or better. How does this impact Lynxspring’s ProBuilder application in our JENEsys® EdgeTM devices?
The good news is that the most recent versions of Niagara already default to use TLS 1.2 and strong cipher suites for making encrypted connections. However, if you have legacy deployments, this may be a good time to upgrade to the latest versions to be sure that your platforms and stations are compliant to the current best practices.
