Hey everyone 👋🏼 Welcome to Glacier National Park! This beautiful place is nestled in northern Montana, and we’re so excited to be back and share the magic of this park with you all.
We've been telling our friends & families ALL about this place and that it was OUR FAVORITE place we visited last year. So we are so excited to be back & bringing you all along for the ride! 🛻💨
This time, we spent $0 on camping by boondocking in the National Forest on the western side of Glacier National Park 🏕️ What is boondocking? It’s just RV camping without any electricity, water, or sewer hook ups. Pack it in, pack it out! 🐻
This spot is approximately 15 minutes (~6 miles) from the west entrance to the park in the Flathead National Forest. We use the app iOverlander to find campspots 🌲
There are plenty of campgrounds and RV parks in West Glacier (and the surrounding areas) if you’re interested in visiting this national park without boondocking! ⛺️

⭐️ TIPS ⭐️
• Check if you will need a timed entry reservation when visiting the park. They are required from May to September from 6am-3pm (exact dates vary depending on the entrance)
• Get there early! Parking lots can fill up quickly, especially on the weekends. If you can’t do what you planned, have a back up plan 🙂
• Schedule a few days on the West and a few on the East, especially if you’re wanting to hike and explore in the Many Glacier area (we did the East side last year & AMAZING)
• Don’t speed in the park! 🚨 Take your time and enjoy these immaculate views 🏔️ Speeding kills wildlife & none of us want that. What’s the rush??
• You can rent kayaks in Apgar Village 🛶
• Leave no trace & treat your fellow humans with kindness 🙂 We’re all here to enjoy these wild places so be kind to each other 🫶🏻
• Carry bear spray! 🐻 Grizzlies DO live here and DO visit popular places. Be prepared! You can rent bear spray too
• Pack lunch! There aren’t too many services in the park and who wants to wait in lines 🥪
