Sphygmograhy
Traditionally, sphygmography is a method of recording the pulse using a special mechanical device that amplifies (as a rule) with the help of lever systems, the movements of a blood vessel from the side of the body surface and registers the enhanced movements in the form of their image.
The method became widespread in the middle of the 19th century; attempts at its practical application were finished at the beginning of the last century. This is illustrated in the lecture.
This lecture also presents an attempt to understand the phenomenon that has appeared in Russia - the distortion of medical terminology for corrupt purposes. The author is trying to understand why the absurd name "volumetric sphygmography" is being imposed on the Russian medical community. The absurdity of the term is obvious and follows from the knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
