Sea of Stars is Building Towards Something Bigger
For years to come, I'll remember my introduction to Sea of Stars as the start of my favorite gaming memory of 2023. Despite the overwhelmingly positive reception, there was something that threw me off about it - something I think others felt as well. But rather than letting confusion or dissenting opinion color my own perception of the game, I decided to push a bit deeper. Through playing The Messenger, Sea of Stars' predecessor, along with doing some research, I discovered that these games are really just their own individual pieces of one of the most beautiful in-progress construction projects I've witnessed. Beginning with The Messenger, and now Sea of Stars along with however games they hope to release in the future, Sabotage Studio is building one of the most impressive universes in gaming, and I'm sticking around to see them finish it.
