Summary:
It is estimated that between 4 and 35% of older adults fall each year, which may lead to fragility fractures for those with fragile bones due to osteoporosis. Post Fracture Care Coordination Programs, such as Fracture Liaison Services (FLS) play a critical role in identifying fracture patients at risk of further falling and referring them to a falls prevention service. In this webinar, Assistant Professor Daniel Pinto will provide an overview of falls, the key components of falls prevention in older adults, and an update on evidence for clinical practice in Fracture Liaison Services.
Key learning objectives:
1) To learn about the risk factors and consequences of falls in older adults
2) To understand the key components of falls prevention services
3) To receive on update on evidence for clinical practice in Fracture Liaison Services
