In this Microsoft Access tutorial, I will show you how to break up a year into two-digit number pairs so that speech synthesis reads it correctly. We will cover string functions like left, right, and mid, and create a custom VBA function to format years such as 1865 into "18 65" for better speech output.

One thing that irritates me, however, is when it comes to a year. For something like 1865, it will say "one-thousand, eight-hundred, sixty-five" instead of how it's normally spoken "eightteen, sixty-five." Any tips on how to make this sound better?
