Match Fishing 2024 | Buscot Park | S.C.A.C. Club Match | 21/07/2024
Back to Buscot park for the 3rd time and once again I drew near the car park. I am hoping to eventually draw down towards the other end as the lake is slightly deeper down there and I suspect holds more resident fish.
As for this match it was a bit of an unknown really, on previous club matches we haven't pegged that far so I was unsure what to do but given the nature of the peg - close to the far bank, pleasure angler on the opposite side, 16" all over I was fairly limited with my choices. I was hoping for bream and then carp, similar to previous matches but was unsure how much to feed - started slow and topped up during the day felt right never worrying that I might attract carp - that was the idea :)
Eventually the carp showed - or rather I think arrived from the smaller part of the lake to my left under the road bridge but instead of my feed they were after bloodworm in the silt so trying to get them to settle was very hard. I have a few ideas for next time if I see the same things happening so cannot wait to get back.
Finished up winning the match, it was very warm and I expect the fish had a great time munching on our bait a few hours after we had left.
