This is a small college project based around the animation of typography (kinetic type) which commenced 2 weeks ago.

I have based the final sequence on Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mocking bird' film in 1962. The main concept of the sequence is based around the story of the film, which revolves around racism in america - within this particular time period.

As a great chunk of the movie is set within a court room, I decided to have the words flow as is if they are being recorded by a court typist, writing on an old piece of paper. The sequence suddenly transitions from black to white, symbolizing the divided relationships between the two races at the time period.

In this scene, Atticus Finch teaches his children why it was a "sin to kill a mocking bird"

I would like to thank Arkadiusz Reikowski, for giving me permission to use his beautiful piece of music 'Epilogue Theme' from his 'Layers of Fear' soundtrack to accompany the sequence. You can follow him on twitter   / arekreikowski   or check out his website http://www.arkadiuszreikowski.com/

Products used throughout the project:

. Adobe After Effects
. Adobe Photoshop
