About the speakers:
⭐️ Sarah Soutoul is originally from France. She started her career as a software engineer in the media publishing industry, where she worked for 3 years. Shortly after, she transitioned into technology training and curriculum development. For 3 years, she was a software engineering trainer and curriculum developer, helping others secure their first roles in the tech world.
She was able to enter the tech industry thanks to a mentor who opened the door for her, and she hopes to do the same for others throughout her career. This passion drives her most within the field of educational technology. Currently, she continues to teach people online through tutoring platforms like Preply, and she also works as a Product Enablement Manager at Level Access, an accessibility-focused company in the U.S.
⭐️ Celena Toon currently lives in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). When she was young, she enjoyed making simple websites about her hobbies and customizing the CSS on her Xanga and MySpace pages. However, she had no idea it could be a career path nor was it ever presented to her as an option. After graduating with an Anthropology degree and unhappily working at a lab for a few years, she made the transition through a coding bootcamp.
She’s now worked as a software engineer for the past 8 years at companies in various industries such as biotech, agriculture tech, and government consulting. In her free time, she likes to cook, play video games, and volunteer. Through her volunteer work, she hopes to empower other women, minorities, and underrepresented people like herself to transition into the career they want. She currently works as a Senior Frontend Engineer at Electric AI, a SaaS IT operations platform for small and medium-sized businesses.
