ESTCP 4.2 Standalone and Networked Controls
In this presentation, we will start by defining “standalone” as well as “networked” controls. We will review advantages and disadvantages of each, as well as how each affects available control strategies and benefits. Non-energy benefits of Networked Lighting Control (NLC) systems will be reviewed, as will the complex “control profiles” and scheduling available in many NLC systems. Finally, specification sheets for a sample fixture are shown, including options for both integral standalone as well as networked controls components.
