Twitch streaming audio guide: Dual-PC audio routing
I todays video I will go over how I route my dual PC audio! Before we get to far into this, you will need a few things: an amplifier with optical audio or a mixer/interface with line in, two pc's, and the correct cables. The amplifer I'm using to route my audio is the Creative SoundblasterX G6. So the first thing I did was get a toslink cable going from the motherbosrd audio on my gaming pc and plug it into the line in port on the G6. The G6 then gets plugged into my streaming PC via usb. With the hardware part setup, I then move to OBS. Within obs, you have to setup two separate audio sources, one coming from your desktop and one coming from the line in on the G6. I explain this more in detail via the video. Be sure to set the respective sources within windows as well, makes life easier. To do this via a mixer/interface, you follow the same principle, but you use a line in via 1/4inch or 3.5mm jack. This is the simplest way possible to route audio, there are other ways, but this was easiest for me. This setup allows me to control levels on the hardware side so things dont get too loud while streaming, as well as hearing stream alerts and gaming audio.
