Why Was Dr Disrespect Not Shown at Esports Awards
Dr Disrespect’s team won several times at the Esports Awards last weekend...but despite the
wins, the Doc himself was nowhere to be seen on the events stream.
Dr Disrespect was nominated for streamer of the year, and his production and creative team
won several awards at the Esports Awards, but despite the Doc being in attendance for all this,
he was never shown on the stream. The Esports Awards was streaming their event on Twitch,
which led a lot of the 2-time’s fans to suspect Twitch of forcing the event not to show Dr
Disrespect during the live stream.
Dr Disrespect and Twitch are currently locked in a heated legal battle over the streamers
permanent ban from the purple snakes platform, so it would surprise no one if Twitch had forced
the Esports Awards to never show Doc live on the stream if they wanted to keep their event on
Twitch.
This move upset a lot of the champions club, as this was the second time the Esports Awards
have seemingly snubbed Doc after his Twitch ban, the first being not even putting Dr Disrespect
in the running for streamer of the year in 2020 despite winning in 2019. But it seems like as long
as Dr Disrespect stays banned on Twitch, he’s always going to have some kind of issue when it
comes to the Esports Awards.
