To recreate the double texture of the title graphics, I used the method laid out in this tutorial

In this title demo you can clearly see how useful and effective that build is for creating titles.
I think i got quite close to the look of the AE graphic, but, so far, the most difficult element to control is the timing of each object in the graphic. So, my result seems very clunky compared to the original graphic.
