Vaughan Williams: Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra
Arthur Whittemore and Jack Lowe, pianos
The Robin Hood Dell Orchestra of Philadelphia conducted by Vladimir Golschmann

Recorded on July 26, 1950, in the Academy of Music, Philadelphia, for RCA Victor, and issued as 45-rpm set WDM-1597 (records 49-3584 through 49-3586), and as a ten-inch LP, LM-135.

The Concerto is in three movements:

1. Toccata
2. Romanza (at 5:00)
3. Fuga Chromatica e Finale alla Tedesca (13:50)

This appears to be the only recording of this Concerto made during the composer's lifetime. The work was apparently not recorded again until 1968, when Vronsky and Babin recorded it for EMI with the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Sir Adrian Boult.
