Is Montikids worth it? In this video I go over the pros, cons, and why it might be worth it (or not) for some people.
Montikids is one of several subscription-based companies offering parents Montessori toys that are matched with their child’s age and stage. They deliver a playkit and educational videos every 3-8 months, depending on the child's level. Founded in 2014 by Zahra Kassam, Montikids is currently the most authentic, "out-of-the-box" Montessori playkit available, but at a price that makes it difficult or impossible for many people to afford. Is it worth it? That will depend on your budget, time constraints, and what you value. Please watch to learn more.

“[Montessori] is a type of education, a set of principles, and a philosophy associated with and reflected in the works of Maria Montessori. Conceiving it in this way, it is possible to imagine a teacher creating a Montessori school even in a jungle, far away from civilized life and without any resources for buying Montessori materials from a factory. She would use her ingenuity, and whatever raw materials were available in the vicinity, to produce “tools” appropriate to the children’s needs in relation to the level of civilization in which they were going to live. In the same way, it is perfectly possible for a poor village school in a civilized country, unable to purchase any standard Montessori equipment, to apply the general principles of the method and provide such materials as can be bought cheaply or made by the teacher’s own hands, thus creating a genuine Montessori environment.”
— Montessori for the New Millenium by Dr. Roland A. Lubienski Wentworth (1900-1997); author, educator, and personal friend of Maria Montessori; developer of the Maths Alive! system for teaching math the Montessori way
