President Joe Biden, reacting to the resignation of British Prime Minister Liz Truss, said he was not worried about the UK's economic spillover would affect the United States.
"She was a good partner," Biden told reporters.
Truss, 47, was forced to quit after an ill-conceived economic stimulus plan she drew up caused economic and political chaos and wiped out her support in the Conservative Party.
In a written statement from the White House, Biden described the United Kingdom as being a strong ally and thanked Truss for her "partnership on a range of issues including holding Russia accountable for its war against Ukraine."
We will continue our close cooperation with the U.K. government as we work together to meet the global challenges our nations face, the statement said.
