There’s multiple ways to create a custom path.
One way is to select the pen tool and create a mask. Then copy the mask and paste it to the position of your object.
Then that will animate on your custom path.
My favorite way to do this is to find an icon and go layer – auto trace.
I then copy the generate mask of that object and paste it to the object I want to animate.
I also can add the stroke effect to my auto-traced layer.
