Over the course of South Park’s history, no character has INCREASED prominence more than Randy Marsh. In fact, I previously did an entire video tracking Randy’s evolution from sparingly used, generic father into heavily relied upon buffoon who is arguably the show’s main character. And when making that video, there was ONE episode in particular that was CLEARLY the turning point for Randy. One episode that shifted Randy from a pretty typical South Park citizen, into a prominent, goofy, overly obsessive oaf. That episode is, of course, The Losing Edge. The Little League baseball episode in which Randy becomes completely obsessed with getting in fights with other dad’s at Stan’s baseball games. So, since we last looked at the episode thcat changed Eric Cartman forever, today, let’s dive in and look at not only what makes The Losing Edge an incredible episode, but exactly how it shifted the way the show utilized Randy forever.
