Oh, I ain’t done with the early 2000s nu-metal nostalgia.
I knew Nerissa was a big fan of Evanescence for a while, and I can definitely hear traces of Amy Lee’s vocal style in her own singing, so it’s no surprise that she’d fit right in. However, I didn’t know Bettel and IRyS also sang this until recently (IRyS sang the acoustic version, which fits her voice perfectly). And of course, we can’t forget Calli’s classic Goofy impressions. Altogether, they work quite well as a group, especially towards the end, and it sort of makes me sad that I wasn’t aware of their karaoke performances sooner.
(Shoutout to that one old Anomalocaris tribute video that introduced me to this song years ago. You’re a real one, weird shrimp.)
