One of the things that I see time and time again is people dropping one or two adsense ads on their website and then complaining that ads don’t pay well. Truth is, Adsense can actually pay really well but you have to put effort into making that happen. Usually, people just say that Adsense doesn’t pay and then wait until they have enough traffic to get on a platform like Ezoic, Mediavine, or Adthrive.
And while there’s nothing wrong with these platforms and you can make a lot of money with them, it’s important that you use Adsense and test it by itself before you join any of these platforms to see just how well they perform.
So today, we’re going to talk a little bit about Adsense and why it makes sense to test it, and REALLY test it, prior to jumping on any of these platforms.
1) You need to develop a baseline
a) Figure out your Earnings per 1000 visitors
b) Figure out EPC
c) Find out how much you make monthly on a consistent basis
2) Test ad placements
a) Think about the user on a mobile device
b) Test different ad sizes (Hint: Ad Units can be gold)

4) Why is it worth figuring this out?
a) Ezoic charges 10% of earnings
b) Adthrive charges 25%
c)Mediavine Starts at 25% and can be lowered over time
d) That means revenue needs to increase by x% and then some to make it worth it
5) Who should I test after baseline?

b) Then choose between AdThrive (100,000 PV minimum) and Mediavine (25,000 PV minimum)
