As Synthesia is currently unable to show note velocity or sustain pedal, I came up with my own version of midi player. So far it is still very basic and lacks a lot of playback features like pausing or seeking.

Note that the player uses XNA 4 and requires .NET Framework 4.0, although I do have plans to switch away from XNA.
Also, please let me know if you are interested in contributing to the player, either programming or UI or even giving it a better name. :)
