In today’s video, we will be discussing monte carlo simulations and object oriented programming in Python using pandas! We will be creating a shark and minnows game!
A monte carlo simulation is a type of simulation that includes a random variable and draws many values from a random distribution to calculate a mean value for the simulation. This can be used in many domains including finance, ecology, and many more fields.
Shark and minnows is a game in which players are assigned to be either “sharks” or “minnows.” We will be using this game to create a simple ecological simulation based on an ecosystem only containing sharks and minnows (derived from the original sharks and minnows game).
