Three months ago I uploaded a video about replacing Windows 11 with Arch Linux, and while installing Arch I used a handy command which simplifies Arch installation - archinstall. Which is exactly why some Arch users were mad. Turns out I can’t use the phrase “I use Arch btw” on dates if I don’t install arch the old school way. That might be an actual reason why I haven’t got a single date since that video.
And that is exactly why in this video I’ll install Arch without using arch install command.
Installing Arch using archinstall command was definitely easier and a bit faster, but I had the same network issues with archinstall and without it. Installation without using archinstall took over two and half hours which is pretty long for OS installation.
The process was indeed a bit frustrating when I got stuck three times on the same networking issue, but in the end I find it very rewarding, since it does require a bit of understanding of all of those commands I ran. And it also requires a good will and a courage to dare to install Arch Linux.
In the end, I managed to install this beast named Arch Linux on a HyperV Windows' virtual machine and I can proudly say "I use Arch btw" on every single date I go on from now.
