Someway, you can inject some third-party domain name servers here and they will take your device to another server than where it is supposed to go. This server then helps unlock your device.
In other words, instead of connecting to the Apple servers, your device ends up connecting to custom servers that are specifically built to help you get rid of the activation lock from your device.
