My time in Somaliland has been very unexpected. It's nothing like I thought and it has shattered all expectations. The people have been very kind and helpful during my one month stay here.
In this episode we went to the poorest neighbourhood in Hargeisa to see what the life is like for those on the bottom of the ladder. If Somaliland was internationally recognised today it would officially be the worlds 8th poorest country. So it was interesting to go to this area and learn more about the life of some of these people. Although it got a little hectic towards the end.
We also went to some of the richest areas in Somaliland to add contrast and show that not everyone is living in poverty. And there is hope for those who are struggling.
I topped up my Zaad and visited an airplane restaurant that was a first for me and an interested place to visit in the city. We also tried some of the best food in Somaliland, traditional Somali food (it was very spicy and delicious).
