How to make quick on the road cycling adjustment for chain rub or chain drop by adjusting the limiting screws on the front derailleur of your road bike or mountain bike. This prevents rubbing without having to adjust the cable. Makes for smooth shifting without cycling noise.

Remember that the gear combination of large chain ring / the larger 1 or 2 cassette cog OR small chain ring and smaller 1 or 2 cassette cogs will often rub no matter what you do. This is often referred to as "bicycle cross chaining." These combination of gears can lead to undo stress on the chain with increase chain wear, cog wear. When I begin hearing any rubbing, I know it's time to shift to a larger or small chain ring up front to prevent rubbing and chain damage.

Note: Adjust the cable tension only if you can't turn the limiting screws enough, i.e. they're at their limit.

This works on road bike, mtb, trail or commuting bikes whether your running Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo gearing.

Also check the for rub when ever you do maintenance or repair.
