Nowadays, one form of ID isn’t enough. Two-factor authentication makes sure you are who you say you are. Watch to learn more about two-factor authentication and why it’s important.
Two-factor authentication is a security process that requires -- as the name suggests -- two factors of identification to authorize access or logins. Factors come from a few key categories, like physical, knowledge, possession, location, and time. Two-factor authentication not only requires two factors of identity, but two factors from two different categories. For instance, facial recognition (inherence) plus a security question (knowledge).
Two-factor authentication is a much more secure means of verifying identity than single-factor authentication; it’s easier for hackers to crack just one layer of security than two.
