Bird Flu H5N1 - Second Human Case of H5N1 Detected in Michigan Man From Infected Cow
As promised, we are bringing you all Bird Flu Update # 3. A second human case of Bird Flu (H5N1) was diagnosed in a Michigan man who had close contact with infected cows. Interestingly, his respiratory swab tested negative while his eye swab tested positive. His primary symptom was conjunctivitis, or redness and inflammation of the eye. They are still running genetic tests to see if the variant was the B3.13, as was seen in the case from Texas. What might all this mean? Does this change the human risk?
