Brunch: the best meal of the week. But … where did this Sunday tradition come from? Well back in Victorian England, meat-heavy, post Sunday church meals were all the rage. But for Saturday night revelers, the idea of waking up early to eat piles of meat hurt worse than a bad hangover. So in 1895, English writer Guy Beringer came up with a revolutionary idea: why not start the Sunday meal with lighter fare and leisurely work up to the heavier stuff? Brilliant!
