Raspberry Pi Controlling LED Strip Lights (5v)
In this video I show how to control a 5v single color LED strip using a Raspberry Pi and a MOSFET. I'm powering the LED strip directly from the Raspberry Pi. If you are using a short run of lights this should be fine, but for larger runs you will need an external power supply.

How to use:

chmod +x pi-config.sh
./pi-config.sh
You can also use the shorter url:
wget https://basementmaker.net/pi-config.sh
chmod +x pi-config.sh
./pi-config.sh
Run the script, select: Standard Setups
and then select: PiGPIO
If you prefer to install PiGPIO manually, here are those commands:
sudo apt install -y build-essential python-setuptools python3-setuptools
wget https://github.com/joan2937/pigpio/ar... && unzip master.zip && cd pigpio-master && make && sudo make install
Commands:
sudo pigpiod
pigs p 17 255
