My girlfriends mx5 has some rust. We took it to themx5restorer last year to get a quote. Unfortunately, the quote came back more expensive than we imagined. Dispite this, we're still going to have them do it - because it needs to be done.
In the meantime we need to get the car through an MOT and with the rust the way it was, I wasn't sure it was going to pass and give us that extra time to save the money. So I did some temporary welding. It's not the prettiest and definitely not the best welding, but the hole is gone and it looks a lot better than it did before. Hopefully it's enough to pass the mot and give us more time to save up.
