Advanced vs Easy Instructions (Port Forwarding vs UPnP) for Plex Remote Access

In this video, I show you how to access your Plex Media Server from outside your home network using two different methods for remote access - the easy but less secure way being Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), and the advanced and more secure way using port forwarding. For port forwarding, I use a Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite router and give step-by-step instructions on (1) how to assign a static IP to the Plex Media Server by mapping the MAC address to its DHCP IP address, (2) forward a port for Plex, and (3) optionally turn off UPnP to make your network more secure.

Please note: you do not need to map the DHCP IP address to a MAC address in order to use UPnP.
