Welcome to Fakistra, one of the most picturesque #beaches of northeast #Pelion, #Greece. It is located between the popular #Damouchari and #Milopotamos beaches and you can reach it via a road which starts from the mountainous village of #Tsangarada.
#Fakistra beach, in #Thessaly, Greece is very #beautiful beach surrounded by impressive rocks and characterized by saturated blue-green water. It is away from #villages, #hotels and #restaurants, and part of the #route includes walking - for this reason it is considered one of the #unspoiled beaches of the peninsula. Fakistra is covered with coarse sand, mixed with #pebbles. The sea bottom is quite rocky around the shore but the rocks cannot be seen when it is windy and there are waves, so be careful. In calm weather the sea is very #transparent and then you can clearly see even the smallest pebbles and boulders and namely then the most dramatic #photos of this beach could be done.

Unless you prefer #hiking trails, the easiest way to reach Fakistra is through Tsangarada. You should follow the road down to the sea for approximately 6 km, then it ends in a small parking lot. From this #parking lot you need to walk on a narrow path - the hiking takes between 10 and 15 minutes but some sections of the path are steep. Near Fakistra you can visit one less popular sight of Pelion, the Hidden School and church above the cave of #Panagia Megalomata.

Located in Pelion in the vicinity of the village of Agia Paraskevi. It is thoughtfully hidden from prying eyes by massive rocks surrounding the bay. It is impossible to drive to the beach by car; you have to get on foot along a steep mountain path. Fakistra is one of the ten most beautiful “wild” beaches in #Europe, and its photographs invariably #adorn the pages of #tourist #booklets.

Fakistra Beach Pelion: Fakistra is a lovely #turquoise bay with soft sand and some rocky spots. This #wonderful #place is surrounded by huge cliffs with dense #vegetation and boasts an #exotic and quite wild scenery. An interesting fact is that some #scenes from the #Hollywood #movie #Mamma #Mia! were filmed here back in 2008.

#Peninsular #paradise or beach with a #wow #effect That's the one - beautiful beach from the #picture however, at the same time, nobody knows where it is. As for you, you never heard anything about Fakistra and that's okay. It's time to #discover.

An escape to the #Centaurs’ homeland
When you mention #Volos, Mount #Pelion is the first #destination that comes to mind. The mountain has relatively low levels of wilderness and elevation. Its highest summit, Stavros, is 1.624 metres, stretching for approximately 50 Km. Mount Pelion forms a natural borderline between the district of M3agnesia and the A3egean Sea.

Its soft slopes and easily accessed peaks make Mount Pelion a popular destination for hiking lovers and weekend mountain climbers. Two mountain shelters, the one at Agriolefkes and the other at Agios Georgios of #Zagora host weary #climbers and #hikers. In Agriolefkes, near Hania, there is also a skiing resort for skiing lovers, whereas an abundance of #mountain routes and trails are ideal for mountain #biking and #horseback riding.

One gains an exhilarating experience all year round when visiting Mount Pelion or its traditional villages, whether it’s in mid-winter when everything is covered in snow, or in spring or summer when colourful wild flowers cover its slopes, which are full of fir, chestnut, oak and beech trees.

#Elegant T3sagkarada
Tsagkarada lies 500m above sea level on the eastern side of Mt. Pelion, along a densely wooded area, looking out to the Aegean. Here, nature is dominant with chestnut and plane trees, being twisted around every single old and new construction of the sparsely-populated village. Treat yourself a cup of coffee at the central square of Agia #Paraskevi, where the great Plane Tree counts a life of at least ten centuries. One of the things a visitor should see exiting the village is the arch bridge constructed by builders from Epirus. Some historic sites of special interest are also the Achillopouleios Commercial School and the Nanopouleios School. Before departing don’t forget to gather mushrooms as well as chestnuts or join the Chestnut Festival held in November, if you happen to be around.
