Muratovo Lake is a hidden gem of the Pirin Mountains and one of the best destinations near Bansko. It's perfect for those looking for an escape into Bulgaria's nature!
In the heart of Pirin National Park, surrounded by Todorka peak and Vihren peak, we can admire this beautiful glacial lake, at 2,230 meters above sea level.
The reflection of clouds and mountains on his water, transform the lake in a natural mirror.The real magic happens at golden hour!!
Many hikers usually stop at the lake for resting, before continuing on to more challenging destinations, like the summit of Vihren.
It takes about 30 minutes by car to reach the Vihren hut, starting from Bansko, and from the hut it takes about an hour to reach Muratovo Lake (Muratovo Ezero).
The trail is relatively easy; only the final part to reach the lake is a bit steeper. On the way to the lake, we follow the Banderitsa River, surrounded by spectacular views of Pirin National Park.

🚗 How to reach : To reach Muratovo Lake, you need to follow a trail that starts from the Vihren hut. The road to the hut is closed to traffic from 8 AM to 4 PM.
