MaineHealth sign blinks all night
MaineHealth opened its gleaming, new $378 million Malone Family Tower in May, though work continued on its Congress Street-facing landscape throughout the summer. That included installing an enormous, taller-than-a-person lighted sign right at street level.
It's impossible to miss, especially at night, as you drive or walk past. That's why it's been difficult to ignore the fact that half of it has been blinking on and off all night like a broken motel sign for more than a week.
One second it reads "MaineHealth," the next it reads just "ealth."
A hospital spokesman reached Friday morning said he wasn't aware of the problem and he'd pass the info on up the chain.
